Choose a slave ship that has taken at least one trip across the Middle Passage.
It will be helpful to filter by time frame, flag, voyage outcome, and number of captives.
Make sure to include the significance when you answer the questions (Why is it important? Why
does this information matter?)
Answer These Questions:

o What language? What does it mean?
What is the name of the captain? How many people are in the crew? o Who owns the ship? Which flag/country?
Where did the ship originate? (the place where the voyage began) o Is it a town or a city? Which country? What year?
Where are the ports that the ship visited before crossing the Atlantic Ocean? o Principal place of purchase? Other ports?
How many captives did it transport?
o How many embarked on the first trip? Second trip?
o Do you know the gender? Men? Women? Boys? Girls?
How many lives were lost during the Middle Passage?
o What is the mortality rate? What do you think happened?
How many captives arrived (disembarked) at the first port? Second port?
Which city/country? Which region? What year?
What was the final destination of the ship? What year?
o Were there any insurrections? Was the revolt successful?
