1. Discuss the primary difference(s) between a crime scene investigator (CSI) and a death scene investigator (MDI). How do their responsibilities differ? Think about educational requirements and the hierarchical structure each works under. How are these things the same and how are they different? Don’t just give a list of similarities or differences. Explain and justify your answers.
2. Research and discuss the roles of Medical Examiners and Coroners. You should compare and contrast their individual roles in a death investigation. Is it better to have a Medical Examiner system or a Coroner system for the investigation of unnatural, sudden or unexplained deaths? What are the investigative goals for death investigators? Support and justify your rationale.
