The student will prepare a well-developed purpose statement, which should complete the following passage: The purpose of this study is to In addition, the student will be expected to develop appropriate research questions and associated hypotheses (if appropriate) to support the proposed study.
Suggested length: The purpose statement is one sentence; however, it is standard to have at least 2 or 3 sentences for this section. I would write the purpose statement, and then provide a couple of clarifying sentences to make sure the reader knows what is meant by the content within the purpose statement. The research questions and/or hypotheses should be listed out and NOT IN NARRATIVE FORM (paragraphs).
