Review the five characteristics of minority groups from your textbook. ( I have included below) Based on those characteristics, research, identify and discuss at least THREE racial, ethnic, cultural, or religious minority groups in the US. Why are these three groups considered minority groups? Use 2-3 sources and 1 page for this discussion.
The text book : According to Charles Wagley and Marvin Harris (1958), a minority group is distinguished by five characteristics: (1) unequal treatment and less power over their lives, (2) distinguishing physical or cultural traits like skin colour or language, (3) involuntary membership in the group, (4) awareness of subordination, and (5) high rate of in-group marriage
